6 Cartoonists were felicitated with Life Time Achievement Award of Cartoon Watch

Cartoon Watch organised Cartoon Festival in Hyderabad 6 Cartoonists were felicitated with Life Time Achievement Award of Cartoon Watch Cartoon Watch, the only monthly cartoon magazine of India published since 24 years from Raipur, Chhattisgarh organised its Cartoon Festival in Hyderabad on Saturday 8 Feb 2020. Programme organised at The Park Hotel of Hyderabad and Cartoonists and dignitaries were present on the occasion. Chief Guest of the function Mr. N. Baijendra Kumar (IAS) and CMD of NMDC awarded 6 cartoonists with Life Time Achievement Award of Cartoon Watch. Life Time Achievement Awardees of 2019 were cartoonists Late Mr. Mohan (Posthumous), Mr. Jayadev Babu and Mr. M.S.Ramakrishna. Similarly Life Time Achievement Awardees of 2020 were Mr. Narsim (cartoonist of Nava Telangana Daily), Mr. Shankar (cartoonist Sakshi Daily) and Mr. Mrityunjay (cartoonist of Namasthe Telangana Daily). Mr Kumar inaugurated cartoon festival by drawing cartoon with quick strokes and that surprised all the cartoonists present. Mr Kumar is not only cartoon lover but he also do doodling. Addressing the cartoon festival, Chief Guest Mr. Kumar said that Cartoonists are the mirror of the society and they draw the truth with little humour. He said that they expose the pain of society and at the same time bring smile on readers face. He appreciated the effort of Cartoon Watch, for felicitating the real heros of the society. On the occasion, Special Guests of the function Mr. Allam Narayana, Chairman of Telangana Press Academy, Mr. Mamidi Hari Krishna, Director Language & Culture, Government of Telangana, Mr. Katta Shekar Reddy, Editor, Namasthe Telangana, Mr. S Varriah Editor of Nava Telangana also addressed the function. A special issue of Cartoon Watch was released on the occasion by the guests. Cartoon Watch Editor Triambak Sharma said that after successful Cartoon Festivals in Delhi, Mumbai, Raipur, Pune and Chennai this year they selected Hyderabad. He also displayed a power point presentation on the journey of Cartoon Watch, which already awarded its Life Time Achievement Awards to cartoonists R.K.Laxman, Sudhir Tailang, Aabid Surti, Pran, Ajit Ninan, Bala Saheb Thackeray and many others. This event was supported by NMDC, Cultural Department of Chhattisgarh and The Park hotel Hyderabad. He informed that Cartoon Watch is the only bilingual cartoon magazine of India published since 24 years and it is already included in Limca and India book of Records.
